Part L 2020 and the Future Homes Standard Briefing Note

With the aim of reducing the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions of new homes in line with the UK’s 2050 target of net zero CO2 emissions, the proposed changes are set to impact on new build residential schemes, through increased levels of building energy efficiency being specified.

On 1st October 2019, the government published consultation documents setting out their plans for the Future Homes Standard 2025, and the proposed changes to Part L of the Building Regulations that are to come into force in 2020.

In anticipation of the upcoming changes, we have produced a Briefing Note that outlines the vision of the Future Homes Standard, and the changes that are to come into force as part of the 2020 update to Part L of the Building Regulations.
