Iceni Projects have been advising Camden Council on the redevelopment of this site since 2016. Funded by Council’s Community Investment Programme, the aim of the project is to secure the long-term future of the Highgate Newtown Community Centre (HNCC) and Fresh Youth Academy (FYA) on the site by demolishing the existing buildings and providing a modern fit for purpose facility, cross funded by the delivery of new housing.

Iceni Projects helped secure planning permission in June 2017 for the comprehensive mixed-use redevelopment of the site. The development included the provision of new community facilities for HNCC and FYA and 31 private homes set around a new landscaped public courtyard.

More recently, Iceni Projects secured amendments to the scheme via a Section 73 Application in February 2019. These amendments delivered improvements to the quality of community facilities on site, increased the number of new homes to 41 and included 7 affordable units that will be delivered by Camden Living.

Construction works are anticipated to commence in Summer 2019 with works completed by the end of 2020.
