Iceni Projects appoints Claire Cogar to lead new Archaeology Team

For some while now, we’ve been scratching our heads over what to do about archaeology. Not unreasonably, a lot of people have said to us that it would be far easier, for them, were we to offer a complete heritage service, to include archaeology.

Heritage? Check. Townscape? Check. Archaeology? ….

Never let it be said that we don’t listen to our clients.

For some while now, we’ve been scratching our heads over what to do about archaeology. Not unreasonably, a lot of people have said to us that it would be far easier, for them, were we to offer a complete heritage service, to include archaeology. We’ve delved into the history and impact of what takes place above ground, they say, but what lies beneath?

With this in mind, we’re delighted to say that we’ve done something about it. Claire Cogar, fresh from overseeing the excavation of seemingly much of Birmingham in advance of HS2 (yes, it is still progressing) has joined us to establish our Archaeology team. She has learnt her tradecraft at MOLA, and is looking forward to applying her mind to a number of our projects, as well as continuing to lead on exciting instructions for the likes of University College London Hospital’s Charity and Guys & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

A wise man once said that if you want to know the future look at the past. We certainly believe that, and the planners amongst us (not to mention the economists and politicos) will no doubt have cause to keep Claire and her team very busy over the coming months!
