William joined Iceni Projects in June 2021 and has nearly seven years’ experience in the Planning sector.

After a stint as a full-time bass guitar player, he began his planning career in 2016 at WSP, working on a number of Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects including HS2 and Heathrow’s Third Runway. In November 2018, he moved to Be First (London Borough of Barking and Dagenham). Here, he moved between departments, obtaining a broad range of experience in the fields of both development management and planning policy making, in a London Borough undergoing significant development and regeneration.

Since joining Iceni Projects, William has gained experience across the industrial, commercial, residential and student accommodation sectors and advises a variety of clients including residential developers, Local Authorities, student accommodation providers, investment funds and manufacturing companies.

William’s interest in planning stemmed from his undergraduate degree in History from the University of Manchester, where he specialised in urban history and the development of modern cities. This was followed by an RTPI-accredited Masters Degree in Town Planning, also at the University of Manchester. He became a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute in June 2020.

In his spare time, William’s hobbies include running, five-a-side football, gardening, looking after his two dogs and enjoying London’s pubs.
