Tom combines a detailed understanding of heritage assets with a strategic outlook to help clients achieve their development goals
Tom joined Iceni Projects in March 2018, after honing his skills at interdisciplinary design firm Alan Baxter. He is an experienced heritage consultant with a keen eye for detail and relishes working closely with design teams to reach successful outcomes for sensitive sites.
He provides incisive, commercial heritage advice and reports including Heritage Statements, listing rebuttals, assessments of significance, and Environmental Statement built heritage chapters. His experience at securing consents for complex projects spans from large mixed-use schemes, involving demolition and new development, to a forensic examination of historic changes and architectural details in order to justify radical alterations to listed buildings. Tom also has a rare understanding of the heritage impacts and mitigation involved in major engineering and infrastructure projects, having advised Network Rail on upgrading its historic estate in England and Scotland.
