Rebecca joined Iceni in April 2022 while studying for an MSc in the Conservation of Historic Buildings at the University of Bath, graduating with distinction in December 2022. Rebecca’s dissertation consisted of a case study exploring the architectural history of London Zoo. Through detailed analysis of the historical evolution and significance of the zoo’s many heritage assets, she examined the challenges of preserving the zoo’s historical integrity while adapting to modern standards in building design, public safety, and animal welfare.
This research sought to identify sustainable solutions for change and management in historic tourist destinations and public spaces, a key area of ongoing interest for Rebecca. Rebecca also holds an undergraduate degree in English Literature from the University of Exeter and has experience working as an administrator and bid writer for a London-based architectural practice.
At Iceni, Rebecca combines her experience and academic foundation with her expertise in QGIS, VuCity, and visual presentation techniques to produce a range of heritage and townscape reports, including Heritage Statements and Statements of Significance; Townscape and Visual Impact Assessments; Environmental Impact Assessment Chapters; Historic Building Recordings; and, Conservation Area Appraisals and Management Plans.
