Before joining Iceni in November 2020, Maura worked for a private consultancy in Edinburgh for 16 years.

Maura has a broad knowledge of the Scottish Planning System and has experience working on projects of varying scale and nature across a large number of Scottish Local Authorities. This ranges from planning applications and appeals for both local and major scale development to leading work on planning appeals, to both the Scottish Government and Local Planning Authorities, and drafting policy representations.

Maura works with a range of clients whose interests vary across a number of sectors and land uses such as residential, retail, industrial and mixed use. She is experienced in working alongside multi-disciplinary consultant teams and co-ordinating projects from early pre-application discussion and public consultation through to submission and management of planning applications. She is experienced in liaising with stakeholders and Local Planning Authorities and tries to engage in a way that achieves positive outcomes for projects and clients.

Maura has benefited from working through various changes to the planning system in her career and is proactively adaptive to ensure a high level of professionalism and consistency with project delivery.
