As the 100th edition of Now That’s What I Call Music is released, Iceni Projects is celebrating its own milestone; now 100 employees strong. The appointment of Lucy Moroney as Assistant Planner brings Iceni’s headcount to 100 staff for the first time.

Lucy’s appointment follows a period of growth for the business, with every team bringing in new staff to service its rapidly-increasing client roster over the course of 2018. Iceni has also augmented its senior team, with the appointment of David Kavanagh as Managing Director.

Chief executive, Ian Anderson, established Iceni Projects in 2005. It has grown from a planning consultancy with a single employee to a market-leading strategic advisor with property and development clients across three office locations (London, Glasgow and Manchester). In 2016, Iceni Projects won Planning Consultancy of the Year at the RTPI Excellence in Planning Awards and was awarded Investors in People Gold Award in 2014

Ian Anderson, chief executive, Iceni Projects said:

“We are delighted to welcome Lucy and David to Iceni Projects. To see Iceni Projects reach 100 employees is testament to the dedication and hard work of everyone who has been apart of Iceni’s 13-year journey.

“In looking to the next phase of Iceni Projects’ development securing an appointment of David’s calibre is a real coup. Bringing him into the business in this new role of Managing Director is an essential part of our ambitious plans for continued growth.

“We have always sought to provide commercially-driven strategic development advice. While the technical specialisms of the company have widened, the fundamental objective remains the same.  I am incredibly proud of what our tribe of strategic advisors has built over the past thirteen years.”

David will work closely with the current management team at Iceni Projects to support the company’s next phase of growth. He will be responsible for the management of Iceni Projects’ 100-strong team across three office locations. The growing team across the UK support a diverse range of clients in planning, delivery, design, engagement, heritage, impact management, sustainable development, townscape and transport. David will also be responsible for the company’s financial management.

David will support founder and chief executive Ian Anderson alongside chief operating officer, Andrew Gale. Andrew will oversee existing client relationships and continue to lead on new business and recruitment. Andrew will also have a broader strategic role in developing the company’s competitiveness in the property and development sector.

David Kavanagh, Managing Director, Iceni Projects, said:

“I am looking forward to having a central role as Iceni Projects works to achieve its ambition to be the leading strategic advisory firm in the property and built environment sector.  We haven’t just grown in size but in service provision too, working with some of the biggest players and most exciting projects in property and development. It’s a privilege to be able to work with such a talented and committed group of people, within a company going from strength to strength.”

Lucy Moroney, Assistant Planner, Urban Mixed Use, Iceni Projects, said:

It’s hard to imagine Iceni Projects as anything other than a major player – there is nowhere else I would rather start my property and planning career.”
