As you are reading this, the wonderful city of Leeds has been taken over by UKREiiF. It will be full of property and infrastructure professionals connecting on the hot issues within the sector and working together to identify solutions to sustainable, inclusive and transformative regeneration in the UK.
Property and infrastructure projects may differ in purpose, but their success is rooted in collaboration – between those who deliver them and those who experience their impacts. This requires building trust and strong networks across the sector, from clients and legal teams to local authorities, regulators and communities. Every voice matters, and if we are to drive genuine industry-wide change, we must move these conversations out of closed project rooms and into the open.
The planning reforms culturally gave us permission to deliver, permission to be proud of the work we do in infrastructure delivery. However, policy can only take the sector so far, and the rest needs to be down to the practitioners providing practical solutions and changing culture. This is the premise of roundtable Ruth Jackson and I are hosting at UKREiiF. In the spirit of collaboration, we want to share the questions with you, these are:
